In this next part of our anti-aging series, we’re looking at skincare at 30+. Even if you haven’t given your skin the TLC it needed in your 20s, it’s never too late to start upping your routine.
As you hit 30 the way the dermis and epidermis work together begin to change as the transfer of moisture is slowed and fat cells begin to shrink. This can result in less plump, less youthful skin and some may begin to lose that healthy glow. Skin tone also begins to deteriorate as your skin elastin weakens.
Top tips: To combat this, we recommend a good skincare product designed especially for aging skin. The one you’re used to using – throughout your 20s – probably won’t quite give your skin the moisture it needs, meaning your skin will be subject to dry patches, wrinkles and dullness.
If your skin tone has taken a tumble you may also wish to use a skin brightener – or a moisturiser with skin brightening properties built in. Of course, it’s important to remember that with proper hydration (through good food, water and a good moisturiser) your skin can look healthy throughout your 30s.
The other major change you’ll see in your 30s is wrinkles – typically in the eye area. Lines, dark rings, crow’s feet are all common but a good eye cream or serum can help keep these at bay. A weekly intensive face mask will also help to nourish your skin and prevent further wrinkles from appearing.
As with any age, one way to prevent premature aging is to stay out of the sun – or use the proper protection when your skin is exposed to daylight. Always use a daily moisturiser with SPF in, no matter what the weather conditions. Our skincare product range has plenty of great options for you to choose from.
On holiday or days when you’ll be out in the sunshine, use a high factor sun lotion and consider wearing a hat to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays.
On the bright side, your skin will benefit from some good things at the turn of 30. Those pesky breakouts you’ve suffered from since your teens will be a thing of the past – happening very little, if at all. What’s more, if you follow all our skincare advice given to you in today’s blog, you needn’t worry about aging skin at all!
